The Ronald McDonald House at Guys' Hospital, was the first Ronald McDonald House set up in the U.K. and the 121st House set up worldwide.

The House follows a long tradition of providing a comfortable and supportive “Home from Home” for families of seriously ill children undergoing treatment at a nearby hospital. It is a great relief for the families and children facing such a stressful time to know they can stay together, in a caring and welcoming environment.

The House is run by an independent children’s charity, The Evelina Family Trust and relies on fundraising and donations.

The House has 18 family bedrooms, where the parents and any siblings can be accommodated. A key deposit of £20 is requested but apart from this, families do not have to pay to stay at the House. Once a room has been allocated parents can stay as long as their child is receiving treatment at the Evelina Children's Hospital. There are also self-catering kitchens, sitting rooms, laundry facilities as well as a playroom and a courtyard garden.

We cannot pre-book rooms, but there is a Family Care Co-ordinator who visits all hospital wards daily, (Monday to Friday), to organise accommodation needs.

At times, we are unable to accomodate everyone because all the rooms are occupied or if you are friends and relatives seeking accomodations, click here for a list of hotels local to the Ronald McDonald House.
